Education and community engagement are central to preventing human trafficking and strengthening survivor support across West Michigan. Through trainings, meetings, and public events, the West Michigan Human Trafficking Coalition equips professionals, partners, and community members with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize trafficking, respond appropriately, and work together toward lasting solutions.

Attend a WMHTC Meeting
Coalition meetings and work groups are open to the public. Please consider attending and meeting in-person or online to learn more about our work and how you can help end human trafficking in West Michigan.

Human Trafficking Prevention Training
Amanda Colegrove serves as the main point of contact for information about the WMHTC and trainings. Please to request a training.
Advanced Trauma Therapy Training
The Advanced Mental Health Trauma Therapy for Clinical Professionals course explores best practices in a phased approach used to treat trauma-related symptoms of trafficking victims. Participants learn the Flash Technique modified to be used with survivors of human trafficking. A special clinical impact is emphasized throughout the training relating to the trainer’s personal and clinical experience working with other survivors of trafficking.

Volunteer Opportunities
Individuals and groups are always welcome and needed to participate in one of WMHTC’s work groups.
Specific groups and focuses include:
- Victim Services to improve services.
- Member Engagement to increase membership and participation.
- Education & Awareness to raise community awareness and train professionals to identify and serve victims of human trafficking.
